President’s Message

It is truly an honor for me to have assumed the Presidency of the New England Surgical Society at the 91st Annual meeting recently held in Saratoga Springs. Since the annual meeting, I have begun working with other leaders of the Society on a number of initiatives. I truly appreciate the opportunity that the members have bestowed upon me to serve our Society in this capacity.

Dr. Patricia Donahoe will be a tough act to follow. Through her effective leadership, the Society has advanced on a number fronts. This culminated in a very successful meeting on October 29-31 at the Saratoga Hilton Hotel in Saratoga, New York. I hope this winter’s New England Surgical Society newsletter finds you shoveled out and cozy warm in our frosty corner of our country. I have not heard any complaints from my winter recreation activists. My snow blower has become my best outdoor appliance. Soon spring will arrive and the sap will start to run in our lovely New England maple trees. Please consider attending our 18th Annual Surgical Resident and Fellow Research Presentation Day on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Conference Center at Harvard Medical School.
